March 15 - Newfoundland has gazetted amendments to their Occupational Health and Safety Act to include a section on diving regulations to become law within the next 6 months.

The Canadian Standards Association's (CSA) Standard 275.2-92 "Occupational Safety Code for Diving Operations" will come into effect in 6 months.

CSA Standard 275.4-97 "Competency Standard for Diving Operations" will come into effect 2 years from now.

Diving operations for scientific purposes are to be conducted in accordance to the current Canadian Association of Underwater Science Standard of Practice for Scientific Diving.
