| CSA and CADC Meeting in Toronto |
At the October meeting of the CSA committee on diving operations, there was serious discussion and debate going on over 4 man dive crews. Over the years, it has become increasingly obvious and the reality that the dive supervisor on a three man dive crew ALSO is the standby diver (the tender holding the hose is doing exactly that - holding hose). Been there? Done that?

| The Commercial Diver |
When an incident occurs and the standby diver has to jump, the tender is left holding the hose of two divers. Where is all the expertise? Who goes for help? And most important - who is now making the decisions that may determine the life of two divers now in the water? Is it fair to the tender to be suddenly dumped into the position of Diving Supervisor? Scary situation when you think of it.
