Dive Supervisors Course to be held in Richmond BC April 18 – 21 2006

The Canadian Working Divers Institute will be conducting a Diving Supervisors course in Richmond, B.C. between April 18-21st. Successful completion of the course is one of the requirements for certification by the DCBC as an Un-restricted Surface Supplied Dive Supervisors. (See details in link.)
To qualify as an unrestricted surface-supplied supervisor, a candidate shall meet the following criteria CSA standards:
(a) The candidate shall have a minimum of 100 logged dives as well as a minimum of 3 years of logged experience as an unrestricted surface-supplied diver.
(b) The candidate shall undertake supervisor training from an organization that is acceptable to the certifying agency. (THIS COURSE SATISFIES THIS REQUIREMENT)
(c) While acting as a trainee supervisor and under the observation of a qualified unrestricted surface-supplied supervisor, the candidate shall supervise a minimum of 16 dives.
(d) While acting as a trainee supervisor and under the direct observation of a qualified unrestricted surface-supplied supervisor, the candidate shall supervise a minimum of 3 mock or sham incidents involving decompression sickness, burst lung syndrome, and a lost diver.

Dates: April 18-21 2006
COSTS: $600 per applicant.
