(CP) A Nova Scotia fish farmer has entered a not guilty plea to charges
stemming from a fatal diving accident over the summer.
A lawyer for 27-year-old Ausman William Murphy of Blandford entered the plea Thursday in Bridgewater provincial court. Murphy has been charged under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
The Crown alleges he allowed an untrained employee to dive in a hazardous environment.
Police say Chadwick James Zinck was diving to check a tuna holding pound on August 19th. Zinck found himself in distress, and three people onboard the boat he was diving from were unable to save him.
Murphy's trial is scheduled to begin March 29th.
