Ontario Ministry of Labour amending Regulation for Diving Operations.
The Ministry proposes to enhance safety at diving operations by strengthening worker training requirements, with amendments to the Regulation for Diving Operations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act. The amendments would require workers and supervisors involved in diving operations to be trained in accordance with the Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standard Z275.4-02 - Competency Standard for Diving Operations. While the current Regulation generally requires worker training, it does not specify a particular program or standard of competency to be met. Debate or comments on this ammendment have a deadline of July 4th - read up on what they propose. Participate - its YOUR industry.
