I have a few favorite quotes that I will pass on from time to time.
Quote 1
"A big man's no means the same as a little man's no, but a big man's yes means a whole lot more."

As President, I pledge to forward the goals of the CADC, which are now expressed in our mission statement:
Mission Statement:
The Canadian Association of Diving Contractors (C.A.D.C.) will represent it's member contractors and inividual members common interests with regards to safety & environmental standards, client satisfaction, and government intervention within our industry. The CADC will also actively promote the use of member and will supply it's members with information and tools to ensure their competence and improve their performance.
On Diving Safety:
The priority on my agenda for the next two years is to make commercial diving activities in Canada safer. We work in a very unusual industry. Our clients and potential clients very often do not understand the potential hazards associated with underwater work. Young commercial divers, new to the industry, sometimes do not understand, or perhaps overlook, the hazards involved in a particular commercial diving job. Our various levels of government want all work tasks to be undertaken safely, but they are not present during most work activities, and often rely on the industry to set the safe work standards and practices that can then be enforced by regulations. This leaves the diving contractor in the position of controlling, to a large extent, the issue of safety on the work site. It is this same contractor that also wants to maximize profits on the job and please the client by minimizing the cost and time of the work. The CADC acts as the diving contractor's advisor and conscience. It is the CADC that defines the boundaries that our diving contractors work within, and the CADC that must accept the responsibility for making sure that those boundaries are reasonable, and apply to all parties involved in the industry.
In the interests of safety, the CADC is promoting a harmonized diving standard across Canada, which we enforce among our membership. We encourage our provincial and offshore regulatory authorities to recognize and enforce this standard. We contact the end users of member services, and educate them with regards to safe work standards. We contact all known Canadian diving contractors on a regular basis and inform them of our industry safe work practices.
Finally, the CADC is continually involved in updating and improving our diving standards. The environment we work in is dynamic, and the rules we follow must be changed from time to time.
Quote #2
"You will not be rewarded by standing in front of an empty fireplace, and telling the fireplace that if you give me fire I will give you wood. You have to put the wood in first."
